Tourist Guide New Glasgow

New Glasgow is located in the County of Pictou in Nova Scotia, Canada. It lies on the banks of the East River that flows into Pictou Harbor as well as the Northumberland Strait, which in the past was a commercial trade route. New Glasgow is the largest town in its county. Similar to Halifax and Sydney, it is a major growth center in the province. The city is situated 20 kilometers towards the south of the Prince Edward Island ferry at Caribou, 110 kilometers towards the West of the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton and 165 kilometers towards the Northeast of Halifax. Within town limits, the singular vehicle crossing is the three lane George Street Bridge.

The population of New Glasgow as per the 2006 census was 9,455.
It is moderately warm in Summer and the daily maximum temperature occasionally soars up to 30 degrees Celsius. Autumn is a pleasant season and there is some precipitation. Winters are moderately cold.
